What is the difference between tungsten carbide ball and steel balls?

Tungsten carbide balls is an alloy consisting of different proportions of tungsten and mostly cobalt. Its high strength and wear-resistant properties are achieved by its high density, high temperature sintering, and heat treatment craftsmanship.

The steel ball is made from a low-carbon alloy steel, with low heavy metal content and high hardness. Its hardness is higher than the carbide tungsten alloy ball after heat treatment, but its wear-resistance and strength are lower.

The carbide tungsten alloy ball has a wide range of uses. It is mostly used in the productioin of ball bearings, valve seals, stainless ball cylinders and other products that require high hardness, wear resistance and corrosion resistance.

The steel ball has a wide range of uses too. It is mostly used to make durable parts and machining tools such as valves, gears and bearings as well as used in oil & gas and construction industries.

Therefore, while both the alloy ball and steel ball have their own uses, the alloy ball is generally more suitable for industrial applications that require greater strength and wear-resistance.
